Yahoo Email AccountsVAM dB Support, April 2014

Yahoo has recently changed its authentication policy for emails which could cause your emails to not be delivered or bounced back to you. If you use a Yahoo email address to send emails from, they are now more likely to not get delivered when sending from VAM dB or other third party services.

In an effort to stop fraudulent emails, Yahoo has changed its DMARC authentication policy to reject emails that use a @yahoo.com From address, but do not originate from Yahoo mail servers. Because of this an email sent from VAM dB using your yahoo account as the From address will appear to be a fraudulent email. This is a change that Yahoo made but applies to many companies such as Google/Gmail, Hotmail and others who utilize DMARC policies. So an email sent From your Yahoo account to a Gmail account is likely to be bounced for this reason, but emails to private domains may not.

While this currently only affects users with a Yahoo account, other free email providers are likely to follow eventually. The best option is to use an email address from a domain that you own such as @Your-Domain.com to send all email. To change your email address in VAM dB make sure to update your profile and also all agent records using a Yahoo account.
